New Jersey Works is a weekly television series dedicated to career planning and all aspects of work life - both in and out of the office. Topics range from industry and corporate trends, personal finances to flex time, and making time for family and work.

Most people agree that one of the hardest jobs is finding a job. NJN and the Employment Channel, a company specializing in career management and recruitment, have formed an innovative public-private partnership to produce this dynamic series to make learning about employment opportunities in New Jersey easier.

Each episode educates viewers on the world of opportunities and how to make the most of their employment. Topics featured on the program include: Great Companies to Work For, Profiles of Successful People, Tools for the Road Warrior, Time Management, Getting and Staying Organized, Managing Your Career via the Internet, Self-Employment, Work at Home, Community Involvement/Volunteerism and Updates from NJDOL. Reporters and video crews travel around the state to bring you interviews, perspectives and advice regarding career development and employment issues.

The Employment Channel website www.employ.com includes resources to help you post résumés and search for jobs. Streaming video programs related to career development, news and employment trends are available to view on demand.

New Jersey Works highlights growth industries that will most likely provide the largest number of jobs in New Jersey in the immediate future and identify skills and training necessary to fill company ranks in the years ahead.
