New Jersey One-Stop Career Centers

New Jersey's One-Stop Career Center System should be the first point of contact for jobseekers in the Garden State. Designed to fundamentally change the way workforce services are delivered, the One-Stop Career Centers fully integrate all workforce programs and services (unemployment, job training, job search assistance, etc.) available at the state and local levels as if they were a single entity. Workforce services are customized to meet the needs of the individual client. To assist jobseekers who are ex-offenders, each One Stop Career Center has a trained specialist to provide specific services. Contact your local One-Stop Career Center to search for jobs and to learn about training, education, apprenticeships, and other employment-related issues.

Ready, Willing, and Able is a work and job skills training program that provides a holistic structured environment over their lives by becoming productive members of society. Participants are recruited from city shelter and prisons and are provided with housing, job, and life skills, and sound support services necessary to rebuild their lives. Participants receive a minimum of $5.50 per hour as a training incentive for their work, which includes street sanitation, apartment repair in city-owned building, data entry, and bulk mail service. Trainees successfully complete the program when they obtain full-time employment, permanent housing, and drug/alcohol-free living.
