| Frank with a small German girl after they captured a German Flag company. Many GIs had similar pictures taken with German children. Frank told me (wife Ernestine) that each GI carried his own pictures such as this one. It got to be a joke amongst the GIs that were involved in the capture of the German Flag Company. The GIs gave the local German kids candy/food for posing with them. |
