Tom
Malloy
On
January 11, 1997, NJN's State of the Arts" program
focused on three prominent people within the Trenton
area. Among them was 84 year old, self-made artist,
Tom Malloy. Malloy is a preacher who took his love of
religion and community service and expanded it into
a love of art. A man who was born the year the Titanic
sunk, Malloy decided in his mid-fifties to pursue his
dream of becoming an artist. He expresses his creativity
by preserving old New Jersey Farmland and the ever-changing
Trenton city-scapes through watercolor.
The
Trenton community has dubbed Malloy, "Dean of Artists",
because his artwork and his words inspire so many young
artists to appreciate the beauty of life and to take
hold of any opportunities that may come their way.
