Reflections
of War
The
Vietnam War was one of the most divisive periods in
American history. This NJN documentary reveals the personal
stories of men and women who served during the conflict.
The Pulitzer-Prize winning journalist Carlton Sherwood,
host of the documentary, served in Vietnam during the
Tet Offensive and is a decorated combat veteran.
Reflections
of War also traces the steps of "The Last Patrol".
In 1989, this group of fourteen veterans marched from
Washington, DC to Holmdel, New Jersey to raise awareness
of the need for a New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
The success of their efforts and those of numerous volunteers
culminated in the dedication of a New Jersey Memorial
in 1995.
Reflections
of War celebrates the opening of the Vietnam era
Educational Center in Holmdel. The Vietnam Era Educational
Center houses the only museum in the country designed
to interpret the Vietnam War. The museum features a
360 degree time-line exhibit, touch screen kiosks and
a testimonial theater.
