NJN Public Television in Partnership with the New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education created a Teacher Guide for the Hidden Child. Included in the guide is an overview of the Holocaust, a background of the Holocaust in the Netherlands, questions for review and discussion regarding The Hidden Child (Maud Dahme’s story), and questions for further inquiry expanding discussion about the Holocaust. Online resource, photographs and memories are also included. The Hidden Child Teacher Guide adheres to NJ Core Curriculum standards and is prepared for students grades 7-12.
A copy of the teacher guide and DVD will be provided free of charge to 1,000 New Jersey public middle and high schools. A copy will also be provided to each of the 200 New Jersey parochial high schools. The New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education will distribute the copies. Additional copies will be available to educators through NJN Video at the cost of $15. The teacher guide is also available as a download (pdf).

About the New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education
”The core mission of the New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education is to promote Holocaust education in the State of New Jersey. On a continual basis, the Commission shall survey the status of Holocaust Education; design, encourage and promote the implementation of Holocaust and genocide education and awareness; provide programs in New Jersey; and coordinate designated events that will provide appropriate memorialization of the Holocaust on a regular basis throughout the state.
