2009 marks the bicentennial year of Abraham Lincoln's birth. Throughout the country, people are coming together to celebrate the life and legacy of what many consider one of the most influential – and most revered – Americans. The occasion offers a rare opportunity to reflect on the lessons of Lincoln and how they can be used to face the nation's challenges today.

In celebration of the 200th Birthday of Abraham Lincoln, NJN will present an in-depth panel discussion, hosted by Michael Aron, which will focus on the critical issues faced by President Lincoln and facing President Obama, and the need for enlightened and engaged citizens in the 21st century.

Panel members include Pulitzer Prize-winning author James M. McPherson; New Jersey Chief Justice James R. Zazzali; Judge Marjorie O. Rendell, Third Circuit Court of Appeals and First Lady of Pennsylvania; and Civic Education Expert Arlene Gardner.

Citizens Wanted will air Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 11 pm, immediately following the two-hour PBS documentary Looking for Lincoln.
