The KETTNER Family of Bordentown, NJ
Greetings from The Kettner Family! -- Emily (12), Anne, John, and Melissa (10). We are homeschooling, and the girls are doing really well. Both are involved with 4-H, enjoy singing in choirs, being with their friends, and bowling with the local homeschool group. The girls and Anne are active in the Christian Community Choir involving about 100 children and 60 adults from about 30 churches in the area. John works for the state and plays his guitar for the Lord whenever he can. Anne sings in the choir and rings hand bells at the church. She loves to garden, quilt, and sew. We are both working with a Teen Choir at the church. In September, we had a Colonial re-enactment type service in celebration of our church's 250th anniversary. We all dressed in Colonial garb and had a great time. Our new puppy, Cinnamon, is a little brown Dauschund. The girls love her. We got her in July. She fell in August, and we had to take her to the University of Penn. Vet Hospital for an operation. We can't afford college for the girls now, but the dog is OK. We all are grateful for our many blessings.

The KENT Family of Baptistown, NJ
We are not a big family, yet it is rare for these leaves of our tree to be seen together in one place at one time -- and especially in a single collective photo like this. Unfortunately, too often it takes a wedding or funeral for us to reunite with relatives and, perhaps like many families, we joke about that. The day of our grandmother's funeral, a local radio station, WDVR in Sergeantsville, dedicated their Saturday Night Polka Hour to her memory. The program host was overwhelmed by the unending song requests phoned in by eager listeners. We suspect that what he may not have realized (or might never admit) is that his entire listenership that evening was huddled around the same radio -- our family. But we do know of at least one other listener that night: The honoree, deceased grandmother Mary Manchur, was also tuned in. The signal was strong. Our heritage is Ukranian and English. One day soon we shall welcome a strong Latino presence, and our family will be complete.
