From the Grand Harvest Wine Festival at Waterloo Village to the Blessing of the Vineyard at Laurita Winery, wine lovers savor the nectar of the Garden State. Host Megan Gunning gets into the action and helps harvest grapes and break the seal at Silver Decoy Winery. She then heads south and checks out the oak casks and bottling at Tomasello Winery. Along the way, she learns about the variety of fine wines produced from the plump and delicious grapes grown in the Garden State and why New Jersey’s “terroir” is perfect for growing grapes. And best of all are the tips about which wines to serve with which foods –and chocolates –at the Smithville Inn and at Laurita Winery. The program winds up with a short segment on handmade chocolates by Diane Pinder of Donna & Company Artisanal Chocolates. This episode is a yummy treat to share with your valentine or simply to enjoy yourself. Partial funding provided by the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation.
