Edwin Martinez winner 2005 Road to Stardom.

Three of the top performers and champions of the NJN Hispanic Youth Showcase battle for viewer votes in the first bilingual singing competition of its kind in the United States. Join us and vote for your favorite vocalist.

Welcome to Road to Stardom, a vocal competition in which the participants must be able to sing in Spanish and English while you at home vote for the best of the best. Now, let’s meet the host and competitors up close and personal.

MioSotis, Host:

MioSotis, of Dominican and Puerto Rican background, is a Latin music superstar. She has traveled the world singing and dancing at sold out concert and dance halls. Her album entitled MioSotis won a Latin Globe award. A gifted singer, dancer, actress and choreographer, MioSotis is the first Latina vocalist to sing the national anthem at New York’s Yankee’s Stadium. Of Bolivian and Italian heritage, the Perrineville native has made his presence felt throughout New Jersey, having won numerous awards throughout the state including the 1999 NJN Hispanic Youth Showcase. Julian has performed on television and stage. His extraordinary talent has taken him around the world including South America.

Arlene Ng

Of Dominican, Colombian, Chinese and American heritage, the North Bergen resident is a six-time vocal and instrumental winner of the NJN Hispanic Youth Showcase. At the Professional Performing Arts School, Arlene received a diploma with a concentration in musical theater. Multi-talented and determined to stay on top of her craft, Arlene received degrees in dance from the Educators of America and in piano from the National Piano Guild.

Edwin Martinez

Of Puerto Rican heritage, the Trenton native plays seven instruments. Edwin has earned numerous awards including first place honors at the 1998 NJN Hispanic Youth Showcase. He has performed with many famous singers and salsa groups. He is now working on his Christian album “Fortaleceme."
