Cuban Pete (2818)

On January 13, 2009, Cuban Pete, one of the great Latin dance legends, passed away leaving behind a legacy of great dance moves and wonderful memories of the Palladium era. Tributes from around the world poured in to celebrate the life of Cuban Pete. In California, Hollywood stars thanked him for teaching them how to dance. In Miami, lovers of Latin music and dance gathered at different events to honor the legend. During the month of February, New York City children and Salseros will join the loud voices of praise with a tribute at Boys Harbor. Cuban Pete, a great friend to many New Jerseyans, proudly offered his name to scholarships for the NJN Hispanic Youth Showcase in the category of duo dancers.
