Levine Travels to Africa to Help Children & Animals
Homeless Tails host and producer Sandy Levine has recently returned from an exciting safari to South Africa as part of a charitable fundraiser for children and animals! Levine's work there helped her sister, artist Diana Madaras of Tucson, Arizona, raise nearly $80,000 for 5 charities. Click here to learn more and see the video Levine produced about the African Sojourn project.

JoJo Pacino
JoJo is a Shih Tzu who was rescued from an overcrowded shelter.  He is missing one eye but still gets along fine.  JoJo is a neutered male, about 5 years old.  He plays well with other dogs and cats, and would do best in a home with just one owner.  Click on the video icon to learn more about JoJo!
Pacino is a 2-year-old, long-haired gray and white kitty who was rescued from an overcrowded shelter.  He is a sweetheart who adores other cats;  he wraps his paws around them to gently groom them!  Pacino is a neutered male who will do best in a home with another cat and perhaps a calm dog.  How about giving a great cat like Pacino a second chance?

Toni Noelle
Toni is a good-looking Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix, about 2 years old.  Toni is a neutered male who was rescued from an overcrowded shelter.  He needs some training and would do best with an experienced dog owner.  Toni loves car rides and talking walks.   Take a look!
Noelle is a very sweet gray and white kitty with a cute white stripe down her nose!  Noelle was taken from a home with way too many cats;  she will do best in a home with perhaps just one other cat or no other cats.  Noelle is a spayed female, about 2 years old, who is counting on someone like you, to give her the loving home she deserves.

Pit Bulls-Myths & RealityPit Bulls-Myths & Reality

The Michael Vick case has brought dogfighting into the national spotlight. But to the people involved with animal welfare work in New Jersey, dogfighting and the overbreeding of pit bull type dogs are not news. Shelters around the state are crammed with unwanted dogs collectively known as "pit bulls", and struggle with decisions about the dogs' fates. While pit bull type dogs are widely feared today as they have been responsible for some brutal, even fatal attacks on pets and people, that wasn't always the case. When properly bred, trained and socialized, American Pit Bull Terriers are known to be friendly towards people, and make loyal, loving pets. Watch this Homeless Tails Special to learn about Liberty Humane Society's BAD dogs program, and see how this Jersey City shelter carefully evaluates the temperaments of its dogs, to see which are adoptable and which are truly dangerous.
