Retrospective: 14 Year Legacy
Show 1416

14 Seasons. 14 Emmys. On a journey behind the badge, even behind the bench, Due Process has tried to bring you an inside look at our legal system. Looking back, there have been countless world changing events - from 9/11 to Guantanamo – and fascinating people – from Barry Scheck to Justice Sonia Sotomayor. Still our mission hasn’t changed. The stories that might not otherwise be told – drug addiction, prison overcrowding, and FBI profiling guidelines. The important issues, the essential facts, the familiar and not so familiar faces. Over a decade of serious talk, serious stories, and serious people.

And then there were the stories, real people confronting questions of law and justice – the janitor who spent 13 years behind bars until DNA final freed him, eight-year-olds arrested in the name of zero tolerance, the American citizen thrown off a flight because a fellow passenger thought he looked suspicious, the mother on a crusade in the wake of Megan’s murder, the shameful memories of slavery in New Jersey to the hopeful tomorrow inspired by the election of President Barack Obama and Newark Mayor Cory Booker.

In this episode of Due Process, host Raymond Brown and producer Sandra King discuss the history of Due Process, update stories covered over the past 14 seasons and talk about the future of the most talked about law and justice issues in New Jersey. .
