Lynne Stewart: Prison Bound?

She was a “people’s lawyer,” a Rutgers Law School graduate who spent her career defending radicals and revolutionaries. But her biggest case – the federal defense of the dreaded “blind sheikh” – would turn her from defense attorney to defendant.

On this edition of Due Process, the case against Lynne Stewart. Should she go to prison for the rest of her life, or should she have been prosecuted at all?

Sandra King speaks to Stewart at her Brooklyn home, where she awaits the disposition of appeals. And, in the studio, Raymond Brown’s guests are Andrew McCarthy, who prosecuted the sheikh for terrorism; Daveed Gartenstein-Ross, a counterterrorism consultant, and Marvin Schechter, former president of the New York Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
