New Jersey is the only state that prohibits the use of Tasers. Although proponents insist that it’s a humane, non-lethal alternative to police firearms, Amnesty International and the ACLU say it’s tantamount to torture – and that it’s been responsible for more than 100 deaths. Sandy King takes a look at one Taser victim, killed by Florida police. His mother, Attorney Vivian Sanks-King, has become a national leader of the movement to ban the weapons. In the studio, Raymond Brown interviews a Taser company representative, a neuroscientist and the executive director of NJ’s ACLU.
