Gay Marriage: Decision Pending
Show #1106
Lewis v. Harris is now in the Supreme Court, and in this Due Process, we go there and hear some of the arguments by the attorneys for the plaintiffs, the seven same sex couples who want to marry, and the defendant, the State of New Jersey, represented by an assistant attorney general. In addition, we hear some of the Justices’ questions and the answers given to them by the parties. After court we get reactions from both sides. Also, Sandra King visits the home and family of two plaintiffs, Sarah and Sue Lael.
Studio guests are civil liberties attorney Larry Lustberg, one of the attorneys who – pro bono – brought and argued the case and attorney Vincent McCarthy, senior counsel of the American Center for Law and Justice, who opposes gay and lesbian marriage.
