Same Sex Marriage(#903)

In “Same Sex Marriage” – produced just after the Massachusetts Supreme Court’s ruling – we meet two Episcopal priests, Mark Lewis and Dennis Winslow, who are placing their hopes for legal marriage on the New Jersey’s highest court. We also revisit Cindy Meneghin and Maureen Kilian, suburban mothers of two, and one of seven gay couples which include Lewis and Winslow, who sued the State of New Jersey for the right to marry. Studio guests: Assemblyman Michael Patrick Carroll (R-Morris) and attorney Thomas Prol, a gay rights activist. In our Newark studio is Harvey Fisher, former executive director of NJN and editor-in-chief of the New Jersey Law Journal, talking about the impact of same sex marriage on the 2004 Presidential election.
