Show #18High Tech Bus Safety - Gloucester Township School District works closely with the local police department to assure their students are safe. The partnership includes a GPS system that allows the local police to monitor buses in case of emergencies.

MLV - Howell High School students hit a home run with the Major League Vocabulary Program (MLV). In honor of National Black History Month, Robert Scott a player in the 40s for the Negro Baseball League, addresses the issue of racism. This program is a collaboration of the Humanities and English programs.

Alternate Route Teacher - Ira Wallin was a computer programmer who was laid off and decided to make a career change. As an alternate route teacher, he is now in his fifth year as an educator at Memorial High School in Elmwood Park. The school district believes that both the traditional and alternate route teachers offer a full educational experience for the students.

Shakespeare - Fourth grade gifted and talented students at Littleton Elementary School in Parsippany-Troy Hills delve into the world of Shakespeare. Because of their young age, teacher Terry Murphy adapts the plays for the child’s mind and includes her own iambic pentameter. The students learn reading skills, acting techniques, and knowledge of the great Shakespeare.
