Project Lundy – Traffic crashes are the leading cause of death for teens, with drivers more likely to be involved in a crash during their first two years behind the wheel. The New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety is working with public high schools to educate young drivers about staying safe behind the wheel. Freehold Township High School takes this program seriously by supporting a club called Project Lundy, a teen safe driving program, and a chapter of SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions).
Earth as a System – Students from the Institute of Technology at the Medford Campus use the Palmyra Cove Nature Park as an outdoor environmental science class. The facility has high-end technology such as GIS (geographic information system). The Nature Park and BCIT are GLOBE Partners for New Jersey.
Forensic Night – Seventh graders from Jefferson Township Middle school will team up with third graders to determine who borrowed the teddy bear. The older students will teach the younger students the science of forensics to help solve the mystery. This project is made possible through an NJEA Pride Grant.
Tiffani – By the time Tiffani Johnson graduated from Trenton Central High School in just three years, she was already well on her way to a life of helping people and giving back to her community. Today, Dr. Johnson is a pediatric resident at the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC. She returns to her home state with a message for students.
