Show #11VES News – Fourth graders at Village Elementary in Montgomery run a live morning news program every day.  From directing to audio and video mixing, the students capture the newscast digitally and broadcast it live throughout the school.

Culture Club – The Spanish Cultural Club at Sussex County Technical School in Sparta collects and delivers school supplies to the Dominican Republic. The club has been running missions for the past four years. Students meet monthly. They learn about the Spanish culture, and make a difference by collecting school supplies, used clothing, sports equipment and first aid kits.

Global Conferencing – Students at Passaic Valley Regional High School in Little Falls expand their classrooms through the technology of video conferencing. They share classroom experiences with students in other states while listening to national experts on topics ranging from politics to the global environment. On this day, the students talk with a victim of human trafficking.  For more information on the school's video conferencing program, go to: www.pvhs.k12.nj.us/atw/atwindex.asp

Professional Learning Communities – Educators are often forced to teach in a bubble, with no spare time to collaborate with other teachers. In Vernon Township High School, teachers take an active role in improving student achievement by participating in teams to address the changing needs in the classroom. Through small work groups - professional learning communities - the teachers in this northern New Jersey community have more control over their teaching environment.
