Clean Ocean – Seaside Park Elementary students attend a student summit at Island Beach State Park. Sponsored by Clean Ocean Action, the program focuses on marine and environmental education at the Jersey Shore. The summit features beach scavenger hunts, seine nets to identify marine life and half a dozen stations explaining the flora and fauna of the Jersey shores.

Making Headlines – Fourth graders at Sparta Alpine produce a newspaper after participating in a two-week workshop. The students learn how to brainstorm story ideas, take concise notes, conduct interviews, snap photographs and write a news story. They also will be exposed to the news happening around them by reading the local newspaper for homework.

What moves U? – Eli Manning, quarterback for the New York Giants, visits children at Hedgepeth-Williams School in Trenton to stress the importance of staying fit. As part of a program called What Moves U?, the Giants produced a Public Service Announcement featuring the Trenton children.
