Geometric Butterfly Garden – Combining the science and bilingual education, teachers Michelle Villar and Liza Santiago have created a Geometric Butterfly Garden. The garden incorporates geometric design and uses plants that attract butterflies and birds. Students at Vineland High School South design the layout of the garden, plant and maintain the garden as well as conduct research Pinelands Regional Junior High School on plant growth. This program is funded through the NJEA Frederick L. Hipp Foundation for Excellence in Education.

Between Friends – Working with the local chapter of ARC, developmentally disabled students from Pinelands Regional Junior High school in Tuckerton learn about the educational and social setting within the ARC facility. The ARC clients show the students how to make “boards” that are used in the telephones. Students will share life experiences and participate in recreational and seasonal activities (zoo, baseball games) throughout the year. At the end of the program, the students will create a memory album to present to their ARC friends. This program is funded through the NJEA Frederick L. Hipp Foundation for Excellence in Education.

Grounds for Sculpture – In 2001, State Teacher of the Year Jan Wilson, and her Nottingham High School students, researched ideas for creating a sculpture garden by exploring Grounds for Sculpture. Five years later, their art lessons have blossomed in their school courtyard.
