The final show of the season highlights two successful graduates of New Jersey public schools

Show 20Tiffani Johnson – A graduate of Trenton Central High School, Dr. Johnson is a second-year resident at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. She returns to her school district to meet with some of the teachers who inspired her to settle for no less than the best. A role model for young people, she speaks with Trenton students about careers in the medical profession.

Billy Van Zandt – The other successful graduate to return for a visit to his hometown is Billy Van Zandt, an award-winning actor and playwright. He returns to Middletown High School South and Thorne Middle School where he encourages drama students to pursue their dreams. Billy advocates protecting the arts as a vital part of a well-rounded education.

Butterfly Lessons – A local New Jersey butterfly program has grown into a global learning network. Pre-k to 12th grade teachers are trained to use monarch butterflies to teach a variety of topics and concepts, including life cycles, respect for life, migration, and climate change. For the past seven years, the Monarch Teacher Network has conducted trips to the overwintering colonies in Mexico. To learn more, go to www.eirc.org.
