Between Friends – Working with the local chapter of ARC, developmentally disabled students from Pinelands Regional Junior High school in Tuckerton learn about the educational and social setting within the ARC facility. The ARC clients show the students how to make “boards” that are used in the telephones. Students will share life experiences and participate in recreational and seasonal activities (zoo, baseball games) throughout the year. At the end of the program, the students will create a memory album to present to their ARC friends. This program is funded through the NJEA Frederick L. Hipp Foundation for Excellence in Education.

What's a Million – Students at Linwood Middle School in North Brunswick are collecting one million pennies. Half the money will be donated to the community. The other half will go for new books to support the Balanced Literacy Program. The goal is for the students to work together towards a common goal to benefit the community and the school.

Math Rocks – Musicians and teachers Gary Hank, Kenney Lutz, and Anne Bercaw, play math songs for their students at Lopatcong Middle School in Phillipsburg . The tunes help the students learn about math in a fun and memorable way. The group of teachers call themselves 2 + 1.
