Educating students today isn't just about reading
writing and arithmetic. Teachers are teaching the whole
child, and dealing with health, mental, and social issues.
Educators must also keep up with new technologies.
School Based Services - Red Bank
Regional High School has developed a school-based service
that meets more than just the educational needs of the
child. Thanks to the collaboration of businesses, faith-based
organizations and the public schools in Red Bank, most
students' needs can be met within the walls of the school.
From medical, to mental, to employment, this school
is working with the whole child so they can be in a
better position to learn.
KIKS
- Dunn Middle School in Trenton is involved with a program
called Kids Intervention with Kids in School. KIKS is
a school-based program that is a nationally recognized
substance abuse and teen pregnancy prevention program.
Through peer leadership, KIKS fosters self-esteem and
encourages constructive decision-making and conflict
resolution. This program was developed by the Children's
Home Society of New Jersey, a non-profit children's
agency, in collaboration with the school districts.

Technology
Showcase - The West Windsor-Plainsboro School District
holds a science fair at the Community Middle School.
The purpose is to showcase students using technology
in creative and innovative ways.
AID-NJEA
- A 24-hour phone assistance helpline provides confidential peer support and counseling to teachers and other public school employees and their families in times of personal and professional crisis. Developed in collaboration with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), AID-NJEA is modeled after the university’s Cop2Cop program, which provides similar services to police officers throughout New Jersey.
