Convention - As many as 75,000 people attend the
largest
educational gathering of its kind anywhere in the world.
New Jersey teachers and education support professionals
gather in Atlantic City to participate in seminars,
workshops, and programs conducted by leading national
experts.
Spotlight
- Top presenters attending this year's include neurokinesiologist
Jean Blaydes Madigan. She will explain the importance
of movement in the learning process by teaching academics
kinesthetically. And Jamie Vollmer, president of the
Great Midwestern Ice Cream Company, works to strengthen
community support for public schools and build professional
pride among educators.
Professional
Development - New Jersey school employees can choose
from over 250 seminars addressing topics from discipline
to school safety during the 148th annual NJEA Convention.
Award
of Excellence - Bob Hartman is this year's recipient
of the NJEA Award for Excellence. He graduated from
Marlboro Central School and Freehold Regional High School.
He is a television producer, reporter, anchor and news
director.
