Science
Bits & Bytes - Students at Torey Sabatini School
in Madison are experiencing the fun of science. This
program combines science with literature, computers,
and multimedia presentations for parents and the community.
Science Bits & Bytes is funded through a grant from
the NJEA Frederick L. Hipp Foundation for Excellence
in Education.
I
Search - Seventh graders from Tenafly Middle School
participate in a language-arts fair with an unusual
twist. The students pick a thought-provoking topic,
conduct the research and publish their findings to questions
like: "Does magnet therapy really work?,"
or "what happens to the body of an anorexic person?"
Imagine
- Eighth graders from Franklin Middle School in Nutley
put their imaginations to the test during an Art Festival.
Transforming the gymnasium into an art exhibition, the
students display their work for their parents and the
community.
Education
Commissioner - In every decision he makes, William
Librera thinks like a teacher first. That makes the
new Commissioner of Education for the State of New Jersey
very sensitive to the needs of the students. The commissioner
explains his goals and his hopes for the future of public
education in the state.
