Luther King Day - First graders at Linden Avenue
School in Stanhope will learn about history, biography
and tolerance during their annual Martin Luther King
Day Celebration.
Have
a Heart - Students and teachers at Euclid School
and Lincoln Schools in Hasbrouck Heights celebrate Kindness
Week by collecting hearts, displaying a quilt and creating
a kindness corner.
Cherokee
Indians - Tinton Falls Middle School students are
learning all about the Indian Heritage of Monmouth County.
The teachers wanted to make the massive Cherokee Indians
library available to more students, so they decided
to put the documents and photographs on a CD ROM and
create a website at www.cherokee-indian-ike.com.
This program is funded through a grant from the NJEA
Frederick L. Hipp Foundation for Excellence in Education.
Learning
Outside the Box - Fifth graders at Franklin Borough
School are bringing history to life. This year the students
will make covered wagons and write short stories and
mini books to share with children in the lower grades.
