show highlights the best of the season's stories
Grounds
for Sculpture - Join New Jersey's Teacher of the
year Jan Wilson and her students from Nottingham High
as they learn about sculpting in one of the top sculpture
gardens in the world. Hidden among a residential district
in Hamilton, the grounds have become a priceless learning
environment for the art students.
Tournament
Chess - Vineland High School students can learn
the art of tournament chess while gaining credits toward
a high school diploma. This course increases strategic
thinking skills, stimulates intellectual creativity,
and improves problem-solving abilities while raising
self-esteem.
Parental
Involvement - New Jersey educators are teaming up
with the Black Ministers Council to promote parental
involvement in the public schools. A pilot project will
target eight urban districts. The head of the Black
Ministers Council, Rev. Reginald Jackson, will visit
Oakwood Avenue School in Orange to discuss the benefits
of this important project.
Bus
Safety - Gloucester Township school bus drivers
provide safety tips to help make the roads and school
buses safer for New Jersey students.
Visiting
Scientists - Second graders from Alloway Township
will meet a real entomologist. He will be attending
Family Science night and teach the parents,as well as
the students, all about bugs!
