Show
#110:
Teen
Arts Festival - Students from across the state display
their artwork to be critiqued by famous artists. Students
also perform plays, musical numbers and dance arrangements
at the New Jersey Teen Arts Festival.
Election
- Four years ago, fifth graders in Mahwah created
their own presidential race - from campaign rallies
to Election Day. The students took on the roles of the
candidates, their wives, secret service agents, reporters,
and supporters of candidates. They researched their
parts and the issues. Today we'll talk with those same
students to see if their interest in this year's presidential
election has been heightened as a result of their elementary
school experience.
Civic
& Government Institute - Montclair H.S. has created
a small school within the school focusing on the content
area of Civics and Government. One of the benefits of
this institute is to give students more individual attention
that is often missing in a larger high school. Picture
Perfect - Union Township parents get a first-hand look
at what their kindergartners do every day by observing
a book filled with photos taken by the children. The
little ones share their books and some of their activities
during a date night with their parents. This program
is funded through the NJEA Hipp Grant.
