Show
#109:
Gift
of a Lifetime - This entire show is devoted to the
NJEA Convention, which is largest education gathering
in the world. The theme of this year's convention is
"Education: The Gift of a Lifetime," which reflects
the dedication of school employees to the children of
New Jersey. See the excitement of the convention, from
student displays to the latest in educational technology
and programs.
100
Credit hours - New Jersey requires that every five
years all teachers obtain 100 hours of continuing education.
The New Jersey Education Association, which has always
been a leader in providing professional development
opportunities to school employees, is now a registered
provider with the Department of Education. Now school
employees can earn credits while attending the annual
NJEA Convention.
Hipp
Celebration - The NJEA Frederick L. Hipp Grant for
Excellence in Education has distributed thousands of
dollars in grants for innovative educational programs
throughout the state. Each year at convention, the grant
recipients are honored during a Celebration of Excellence.
We'll learn more about who Fred Hipp is, and how the
grants have made a difference in New Jersey's public
schools.
Great
Public Schools - For the first time at convention,
focus groups will be conducted to find from public school
employees what it takes to make a model school. The
educators will be asked to list the ingredients of a
great school.
