Show #105:

Project Adventure - In an effort to boost students' self-confidence and self- awareness, the Delaware Valley Regional High School in Frenchtown built a challenging ropes course. Students in Project Adventure put on their helmets, strap in their belts, and climb on 50-foot high ropes and fly through the air on a zip wire.

Say them Loud and Clear - Students at Roosevelt Elementary School in River Edge will honor those who died in wars by reading their names out loud and researching their backgrounds to write biographies. Each morning the students will read six names every day until all 13,800 names have been read. The program is designed to help students understand that the men who gave the ultimate sacrifice for their country are real people.

Civic & Government Institute - Montclair High School has created a small school within the school focusing on the content area of Civics and Government. One of the benefits of this institute is to give students more individual attention that is often missing in a larger high school.

Election - Four years ago, fifth graders in Mahwah created their own presidential race - from campaign rallies to Election Day. The students took on the roles of the candidates, their wives, secret service agents, reporters, and supporters of candidates. This show follows-up with those same students to see if their interest in this year's presidential election has been heightened as a result of their elementary school experience.
