Lawnside
(1315)
An historically black municipality that dates
back to colonial times, Lawnside continues to
preserve its legacy which includes a link to the
Underground Railroad, the Peter Mott house. Guests
discuss efforts to raise money to restore the
house, a calendar put out by the historical society
that captures Lawnside's past, and how the borough
find's time to help a fellow black town ravaged
by hurricane Floyd - Princeville, North Carolina.
In November 1999 the borough Council passed a
resolution to adopt Princeville as a "Sister
City." The program includes highlights from
one of their fundraising efforts.
