Black
Healthcare (1217)
We begin with a look at the higher mortality rate
of blacks than whites. For example, prostate and
breast cancer, infant mortality, and heart disease
are more likely to be deadly for blacks than for
whites. Healthcare issues like quality of care,
financial status and availability of services
all play a major role in longstanding racial disparities.
Then, physicians join us in the studio to talk
about the biases and discriminatory practices
that exist in the area of health care for both
patients and doctors.
