1) View highlights of the African American Art
Exhibit that was on display at the NJ State Museum.
Then Assemblywoman Bonnie Watson Coleman talks
about her late father, John Watson, and his contribution
to the exhibit. 2) A profile of Essex County College
President, Dr. Zachary Yamba, credited with turning
the college around. Once the target of scandal,
and threatened with closure, the college is now
booming with enrollment and thriving with academic
excellence. 3) Black golfers remember John Shippen,
who sparked controversy when he signed up to play
in a golf tournament in 1896. They also discuss
the history of black in golf, a tale of racism,
discrimination and segregation. Golfers include
Samuel Cuyler, Hugh Hill, Melvin Binnion, Edward
Wadood, and Wiley Williams.
