Focus
on Youth (1206)
This program examines the challenges facing today's
teens and programs to help them survive. The Horizon
Teen Center's The Choice Is Mine program shows
how teens are taking positive steps toward handling
many of today's tough issues. Then our studio
guest is an ex-con who founded the Friends of
the Lifers' Youth Corp, a program that works with
teens 12 - 21 with troubled juvenile backgrounds,
to assist in changing the direction of their troubled
past so they become productive assets to the community.
Brief performances by students at the Cicely Tyson
School of Fine and Performing Arts are shown throughout
the program.
