This Another View arts special puts a spotlight on tap dancing. Tap Artistry highlights the work of the New Jersey Tap Dance Ensemble to preserve the rich legacy of this dynamic performance art. Under the guidance of its Founder and Artistic Director, Deborah Mitchell, the New Jersey Tap Dance Ensemble has become one of the most prominent touring dance companies in the country.

This half-hour presentation displays the passion and artistic vibrancy of tap dance through the extraordinary performances by members of the New Jersey Tap Dance Ensemble. In addition, viewers will witness the passing of the baton from one generation to the next as young student dancers are mentored and trained to eventually become technically skilled tap dancers.

The program also features interviews with New Jersey Tap Dance Ensemble founder and artistic director Deborah Mitchell, members of the company, and emerging young talent as they describe their passion and commitment to this art form known as tap dance.
