In newsrooms across the country, minority faces are decidedly absent. Another View goes behind the scenes to examine how the lack of minorities in newsrooms affects journalistic quality. While African-Americans are gaining some influence, striking problems still persist. An esteemed panel of guests who have climbed the ranks in television and newspaper outlets will discuss the absence of minorities in newsrooms, the battles they have fought and how media outlets are in a unique position to shape race relations around the world.
Hosted by Candace Kelley, Another View takes a look at how the question of race determines what stories are covered and how that content influences America's view point.
Guests include Michael Days, Managing Editor, Philadelphia Daily News ; Mary Stoker Smith, Anchor, WB 17; Irv Randolph, Managing Editor, Philadelphia Tribune ; Art Fennell, Managing Editor and Anchor, CN8 News ; Rachelle Christie, Business Copy Editor, The Star-Ledger of Newark; and Karen Turner, Professor of Journalism, Temple University. |
