Since retiring from the National Basketball Association
Magic Johnson has redefined himself as a business
tycoon heading numerous ventures including the
Magic Johnson Foundation and Johnson Development
Corporation. Johnson Development Corporation is
best known for bringing quality entertainment
and services to under served communities i.e.
Magic Johnson Theaters, Starbucks, Fatburger Hamburger
Chains and Magic Johnson's T.G.I. Friday.
Philadelphia
native Kenny Gamble is a world-renowned musical
writer, composer, producer and founder and CEO
of Philadelphia International Records. Some of
his hit records included, " If You don't
know me by Now", "For the Love of Money"
and "Love Train". Gamble has placed
his fame and fortune in a community rebuilding
effort anchored by Universal Companies. Universal
Companies created by Gamble is committed to rebuilding
South Central Philadelphia, the neighborhood where
he was raised. Gamble has invested more than seven
million dollars of his own funds to privately
acquire more than 120 vacant properties in this
South Philadelphia. He refers to this revitalization
effort as, "The Biggest Hit Of My Life".
