Madam
C. J. Walker (1418)
(not available for purchase)
Stanley
Nelson joins us once again to discuss the life
of Madam C. J. Walker. Known as the first African
American millionaire, who started with nothing
and built a hair care and cosmetic empire. But
her good fortune was not kept to herself. She
became a philanthropist and an educator training
women of color to be independent and professional.
This program uses clips from Nelson's first film,
"Two Dollars and a Dream" which takes
an in-depth look at Madam Walker and her empire.
