Uniquely
Artistic (1411)
Two
artists are uniquely creative in their approach
to self-expression on canvas. 1) Artist Soraida
Martinez is the creator of Verdadism, a painting
style that juxtaposes figurative hard-edge abstraction
with social statements. Her bold and powerful
paintings are accompanied by thought-provoking
commentary based on the artist's personal experiences.
Soraida's works were published in her book called
"Soraida's Verdadism: The Intellectual Voice
of a Puerto Rican Woman Artist on Canvas."
2) Artist Karl Slocum was given new life through
the death of his brother. Having inherited his
brother's paintbrushes, Karl fulfills his commitment
to God for offering him this new life. Each painting
carries a depiction of Jesus, and he now uses
the canvas to preach the gospel using biblical
and Trinitarian themes to convey his message.
