The Snapshot Project
Faded. Brown and white. Dusty. Curled at the edges. Torn. Spotted with dampness – yet so beautiful and so absolutely fascinating. The link to who we are as individuals. The origin of family traditions. The story of the beginning. Of immigration. Of Ellis Island. Of working to the bone.
Of the days when we were first American. The snapshots of lifetimes.
NJN invited the public to send in photos and other images of their family’s new life in America – whether it was yesterday or turn of the century for inclusion in the NJN Snapshot Project on our website. Members of the community responded with beautifully heartwarming images that vividly capture the personal stories of immigration. We invite you to browse the NJN family album.
