LOWER ALLOWAYS CREEK TOWNSHIP, NJ — A nuclear power plant in New Jersey started leaking radioactive water and was temporarily shut down.
About 4,800 gallons of radioactive water poured out of the system, but was held back by the plant’s containment system. Because the containment system acted as designed, plant operators say there is not danger to the public or the environment.
