SBR analyst Natalie Rydstrom discusses the recent International iGaming News reporting on:

NGC recommends Bally and IGT:
The Nevada Gambling Control board has recommended Bally Technologies Incorporated as well as IGT to be the first companies to receive interactive gaming licenses. The service provider and manufacturer licenses would allow Bally’s and IGT to provide iGaming technology to Nevada Casinos — including online poker. Executive Director of The Poker Player Alliance John Pappas joined us for an interview yesterday, expressing confidence that operations would be underway by early 2013. You may watch the full interview with Mr. Pappas on the SBR newswire.

Will Hill spent over mill to acquire 3 Nevada companies:
On Thursday state regulators proposed that William Hill receive a license to operate three land-based sportsbook and racebook companies. According to a report published by the Las Vegas Review Journal, Will Hill spent more than 53 million dollars in 2011 to acquire three Nevada companies —including Leroy’s Horse & Sports Place, Lucky’s Sportsbook, and Club Cal Neva Satellite Race and Sports book.

NJ’s gambling bill postponed til fall:
Voting on New Jersey’s online gambling bill has been postponed until this Autumn. The legislation, Assembly Bill 2578, allows for Atlantic City casinos to offer internet wagering on approved games within their facility. This would NOT include online sports wagering; though New Jersey is attempting to exempt itself from the Professional And Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1993, which outlaws all but four states from running a sportsbook. During his second interview with SBR, State Senator Lesniak noted that while many Americans would enjoy online gambling within their homes, such a luxury was further down the pipeline, and rested on federal law being amended.

German licenses in danger of being revoked:
SBR reported last month that seven operators received gaming licenses in the Northern German state Schleswig-Holstein. It appears these licenses are now in danger of being revoked, according to a report published by EGR this week. Germany’s new coalition government is seeking to regulate gambling in accordance with the unpopular State Treaty. The seven operators currently licensed in Schleswig-Holstein are Bwin, Bet365, Tipico, BetAtHome, MyBet, Betfaire and Nordwest Lotto.
