Imagine a child in Eerie Pennsylvania or San Diego California actually chatting online about favorite foods to children in China, Saudi Arabia, Mexico or Sweden?
Welcome to Panwapa Island! Panwapa is a call to action encouraging young children to participate as global citizens within their communities and beyond.
Panwapa -- a word from the Tshiluba language that means "here on this earth" -- tells the story of six new Muppet characters who build a community on Panwapa Island, a floating island that travels the oceans of the world.
Included in these programs are four short films from Tanzania, France, Russia and Guatemala about real kids and their awakening to the cultures and languages around them. |
