Workforce Readiness

NJN has developed a broad range of workforce training programs designed to provide adult learners and high school students with the skills they need to achieve success in the workplace.

The Workforce Readiness video library offers the following content:

Workplace Essential Skills: a series of 25 half-hour video programs that teach basic reading, writing, and math skills in the context of real-life work settings. The programs reinforce important concepts such as making a good impression, making the most of introductory training and growing within a job.

GED Connection: a 39-part series that provides excellent preparation for the new GED exam, covering all five subject areas - - Writing, Reading, Social Studies, Science and Mathematics - - for students with a variety of learning styles. GED Connection presents topics in workplace context, gives cross-disciplinary practice, provides instruction and practice on the new grid answer formats, shows how to interpret maps, charts, and other graphic data and demonstrates the new Casio fx-260 scientific calculator used on the first part of the new math test.

TV411: a 30-part series of half-hour video programs that combine the power of popular television formats with a strong community component. Full of useful tips such as how to decipher a pay check, keep a family medical history, and get the most out of reading, each half-hour episode includes moving real-life stories, testimonials and community life experiences, along with recurring characters and situations that help reinforce learning at home.

Jobcast: Over 400 ten–minute and half-hour programs that present “Careers in a minute”, masterclasses, jobfairs, and success stories to inspire viewers to overcome obstacles and achieve their personal and professional goals.
