Urban League of Hudson County:
Teen Pregnancy and STDs

Teens at the Urban League of Hudson County chose to produce their video on Teen Pregnancy and STD's., which they identified as a huge issue affecting their peers. The nine teens met once a week for two hours at the Urban League. We went out in the neighborhoods to conduct "man on the street" interviews, talked with teens after school, went to various teen hangouts and consulted with adults and various health professionals in the Jersey City community. We were even able to talk with some single teen mothers. We also attended a health fair at one of the local churches and got a lot of great footage. The teens also hooked up with a peer education group, C.O.P.E (Community Outreach through Peer Education.) They are a group of teens who go out in the communities and perform skits on various forms of peer pressure.
