Community Conversation was a live one-hour town meeting, with a live audience that aired on April 4, 2000, during National Public Health Week. The purpose of Community Conversation was to explore different facets of public health in the state of New Jersey. The town meeting focused on accomplishments, goals and objectives, challenges and a look at how media and technology fit into public health in the state.

What is Public Health?, Tobacco Menace, Seniors: Aging in Place, and Healthy New Jersey 2010 were the four areas of focus for Community Conversation. Health Experts, Christine Grant, Commissioner for the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services; Dr. Michael McGinnis, Senior VP & Director of Health Group at Robert Wood Johnson Foundation; and Dr. Robert Johnson, Professor of Pediatrics & Clinical Psychology, UMDNJ were NJN's guests for Community Conversation.
