Community Conversation
was a live one-hour town meeting, with a live audience that
aired on April 4, 2000, during National Public Health Week.
The purpose of Community Conversation was to explore different
facets of public health in the state of New Jersey. The town
meeting focused on accomplishments, goals and objectives,
challenges and a look at how media and technology fit into
public health in the state.
What is Public
Health?, Tobacco Menace, Seniors: Aging in Place, and Healthy
New Jersey 2010 were the four areas of focus for Community
Conversation. Health Experts, Christine Grant, Commissioner
for the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services;
Dr. Michael McGinnis, Senior VP & Director of Health Group
at Robert Wood Johnson Foundation; and Dr. Robert Johnson,
Professor of Pediatrics & Clinical Psychology, UMDNJ were
NJN's guests for Community Conversation.
