Teen Smoke investigates teenage smoking. Using teen reporters selected from throughout the state, teens are interviewed about tobacco issues.
What do teens actually know about the dangers of tobacco use? We find out, as our reporters ask such questions as; Do you know what is actually in a cigarette? How do these chemicals affect your body? What happens to your lungs when you smoke? Do you think that smoking will help you lose weight? Does your living environment influence whether or not you use tobacco products?
Teens interviewed on the program come from a variety of cultural and economic backgrounds. They tell why teens smoke, how they started, and what impact do they think smoking has had on their life and health.
Also interviewed are adult tobacco users. Long time tobacco users share their stories of how tobacco use has impacted their lives and their health. Myths are exposed and solid findings on teens smoking are presented.
Local support for Teen Smoke, NJN's, Search for a Safe Cigarette Community Engagement Initiative is provided by The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation which is dedicated to improving health and health care for all Americans.
