WITHIN OUR POWER
The Progress, Plight and Promise of Arts Education for Every Child
On September 18, 2007, New Jersey Secretary of State Nina Mitchell Wells and Commissioner of Education Lucille E. Davy released the findings from the Statewide Arts Education Census. They are joined by Bon Jovi’s David Bryan, Bob Morrison of Music for All and representatives from the New Jersey Arts Education Census Project Team. The Census was designed to evaluate the state of arts education in every K-12 public school throughout New Jersey. Having received more than a 98 percent response rate, it is the most comprehensive of its kind in the nation. The New Jersey Arts Education Census Project is a collaborative partnership of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the New Jersey Department of Education, the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation, and the Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey, spearheaded by Music for All..
